Ten recording companies and two associations will participate, supported by AGADIC
Galician music lands at Womex from 28 October to 1 November
[26/10/09] Galician music will be present between 28 October and 1 November at Womex, the most important World Music fair on the international circuit. Ten record companies, two professional associations and the institutional support of the Regional Ministry of Culture and Tourism through the AGADIC (the Galician Cultural Industries Agency) will be presenting all of the potential of modern Galician artists in the Danish capital.
For another year, the Galician artists will be visiting Womex under the banner of Galician Tunes, with a strategy fundamentally aimed at the European and Latin American markets. With 3,000 accredited agents from 90 countries, this year’s event will be attended by the companies Falcatruada, Ouvirmos, Zouma Records, Berrogüetto Producións, Abada, Mare, Articket, Sul Produccións, Nordesía and Lóspregos. The last two will also have their own exclusive space at the event.
Apart from the institutional representation chaired by the director of the AGADIC, Juan Carlos Fernández Fasero, members of sector’s two main associations will also be attending Womex: the AGEM (Galician Association of Musical Enterprises) and Agaphono (Galician Association of Record Producers), responsible for organising the Galician participation in the event.
A large stand sponsored by the AGADIC will be installed at the Bella Centre in Copenhagen, which will be promoting the Galician Tunes label, used in recent years to support modern Galician music in other countries. Logistics support will be provided for all of the companies visiting the event, together with translation services and commercial intermediaries.

Apart from the generic promotional material and the specific items provided by the different record companies, the Galician delegation will be handing out a CD at Womex 09 containing a

It also includes a promotional disk featuring several musicians with the title Rumbas, from the "Descarga ao Vivo" platform.
The
Galician Festivals Guide will also be given out at the event, listing the most important festivals and performances of Galician music in the region, specifically produced for international promotion, together with the magazine
Ao Vivo Música, published twice a year by the AGADIC to promote groups and solo performers taking part in the programme of the Galician Live Music Network.
