Tesouro is, in essence, the distillation of decades of craft, melomania, and friendship within the music scene of Ourense. Formed by veterans who have passed through cult bands of Galician rock, the group presents itself not as a conventional debut act, but as a project of maturity that champions guitar-driven pop with an artisanal sensitivity.Carlos Rego (vocals and guitar): Music journalist, writer, and the driving spirit behind historic bands such as Cosecha Roja and Burgas Beat.Aser Álvarez (drums): Rego’s companion through countless musical battles in Cosecha Roja and Burgas Beat.Daniel Alonso (bass): Coming from Os Amigos dos Músicos, he joined the project bringing a freshness that ultimately helped shape the trio’s sound (recently expanded into a quartet with the addition of Anxo Fernández on keyboards). The band was conceived in Roimelo, the village where Aser lives and where the group established its rehearsal headquarters, far from urban noise and closer to the introspection that defines their lyrics. If there is one thing that defines Tesouro, it is their avoidance of complex labels, although their DNA is clearly marked by: American indie rock (The Dream Syndicate or The Feelies). Their songs are described as “timeless, bittersweet, and finely arranged.” They do not seek a disruptive avant-garde, but rather direct emotion through carefully crafted guitars and lyrics that move between the everyday, the existential, and the nostalgic.
