Folk minimal in approach and grandiloquent in the forms, debtor of an instrumental sweetness and an obsession with the detail that transports an animist music, vertebrated by sensations and impulses rather than by chords and scores. Her portentous voice and atmospheres prevails over the details, which make up stories; Jane Joyd bets for classical instrumentation based on sections of string and winds, but she adds electronic nuances that, somehow, make up a sober and theatrical landscape.Jane Joyd was born in 2009 as Elba Fernández’s personal project and, over the years, it becomes a seven-member band (Xulio Vázquez, Fernando González, Iago Mouriñom Julián Rodríguez, Tamara Rodríguez and Ric Morente). The band, which ceased its activity in 2014, leaves behind three EPs, the first self-published in digital and the next two under the Madrid-based label Origami Records.Elba’s new musical project is called Mordem.
