Gone through a point of no return into a black hole, it is no longer possible to turn back. “Punto de no retorno” (2021) is also the title of the second album by N.E.O., a Galician hard rock band consisting of Alberto Cereijo, Tino Mojón, Pedro Regueira and Diego P. Castro that, just like a black hole, attracts us and drags us into its terrain.Alberto's demolishing guitar is perfectly wrapped by a forceful rhythmic base where Tino and Diego sound like one person. Pedro's voice glides over that base, enhancing the committed lyrics with melodies that stick in your head from the first listen.“Punto de no retorno” is more than an evolution from their previous album. Their classic hard rock influences are still recognisable, but now there are also moments close to progressive rock. It is then when the virtuosity of its members is put at the service of their songs, so amalgams and brilliant instrumental sections appear that elevate the songs to another dimension without losing an iota of energy. The album, recorded between Planta Sónica 2 and Pouland under the production of Alberto Cereijo, achieves a sound that is faithful to their irresistible live performances, demonstrating that they are one of the most solid and solvent bands on the national scene.All these elements make this work a "point of no return" from which you won't be able to escape as soon as you listen to the first bars; an album of songs that, as one of their lyrics says, will remain floating in the air, in the depths of your memory.
