Begoña Riobó is nowadays the most prominent violinist in the Galician music scene. With an important artistic trajectory, during which she was part of the bands of Carlos Núñez, Susana Seivane, Anxo Lorenzo and Sondeseu; she is now considered as the first Galician folk violinist to lead her own band.Begoña Riobó is a comprehensive artist, that besides the violin, has mastered other instruments such as the hurdy-gurdy and the celtic harp, an instrument that she teaches at the school of traditional music "e-Trad" in Vigo. Begoña is well known in the major international festivals, where she has played on numerous occasions with Carlos Núñez, Solas, The Chieftains, Sondeseu, Anxo Lorenzo, Susana Seivane and a long list of great artists."Riobó" is the name of Begoña's band, and it's also the title of her first album, which is distinguished by the virtuosity with which the musicians arrange and interpret these melodies of Galician tradition, remaining true to their forms and origin. This way, every show becomes a demonstration of sensations, where the purest traditional cultural roots coexist with current interpretative formulas.Four recognized musicians with a solid trajectory and commonly seen in the main Galician music projects accompany Begoña in “Riobó”. They are Fernando Barroso (guitar), Marcos Campos (bagpipes, accordion and flute), Xosé Liz (bouzouki), and Fernando Pérez (flutes and requinta).
