Pedraquetiña launches the first album, "Cantares", with which they want to make a gift to all of those who feel traditional music is the best medium for cohabitation and enjoyment, while helping to keep the interest in our musical culture alive. They have 14 people in their concerts, predominantly female: 10 "cantareiras", two bagpipers, a drummer, a bass drummer and an accordion player. The show starts with a short performance in which the women act a little get together doing chores and tasks that were typical in rural areas in the past (separate the corn kernels, card wool, etc.) while they tell everyday life stories and anecdotes. This brief performance gives way to the beginning of the concert.Their repertoire consists of the songs included in this album, which includes pieces collected from traditional folk, that were especially arranged for this work, and other compositions adapted to Pedraquetiña's style. Besides that, the concert also includes other songs from the traditional repertoire and copyright music.
