BellónMaceiras Dúo

BellónMaceiras duet was born in 2005, from the musical union of the bagpiper Daniel Bellón and the accordionist Diego Maceiras. His deep knowledge of traditional Galician music, along with his artistic and his taste for music from other countries, made from the beginning the duo merged without fear, rhythms and melodies from different places, playing world music from Galicia.

His first album “Unión das Terras” has been the prize of the contest they won in the Main Theater of Santiago de Compostela, in March 2006. With this first album, the duo has played in New York, Geneva, Warsaw, Paris, Madrid, Barcelona, Brussels, Lorient, Cuxhaven, etc.

In 2007, when three musicians invited to join BellónMaceiras Quintet (upright bass, drums and guitar) were all in agreement on the merger that would create. This is without doubt the defining characteristic of the band: the fusion of styles without complex and the virtuosity of its components.

Folkfusión, the record presented in 2010 for the quintet, is defined as a new way of understanding world music from Galicia.

"Live au Cornouaille" was published in the summer of 2010. This is the concert recording of the 60th anniversary of Bagad Kemper, which have been invited Daniel Bellón and Diego Maceiras, including musicians like Dan Ar Braz.

2011 starts with concerts in Moscow (Christmas festival at the Cathedral Catholic) and in Cosquín (National Folklore Festival of Cosquín-Argentina).
