Chicharrón is funded by Alberto Vecino (ex Franc3s), Diego Gende and Rubén Domínguez (ex Telephones Rouges), in Carballo at the end of 2013.In March 2014 they start recording their first album, homonymous, at Tomás Ageitos’s studio, A Ponte, and produced by Rubén Domínguez and, in June, Prenom releases it as the first reference of the label. Chicharrón’s debut album is full of dream-pop, folk and some twilight western BSO tunes, delivering many positive reviews and even being entirely broadcasted on Radio 3 famous programme “Disco Grande” by Julio Ruiz. Months later Xurxo Meis (drums) and Mar Catarina (keyboard) join the band, resizing their sound and favouring a turnaround in their way of writing. At the beginning of 2016 they record their second album, “Postal” (Prenom, 2016), again at Estudio A Ponte and produced by Rubén Domínguez. With a crystalline and calm tune, Alberto Vecino’s lyrics change the anguish that characterized their firs album for a celebration of love. In march 2017 they release the single “Contra acantilados” in digital edition with a videoclip produced by Alfonso Zarauza in 16mm. “Contra acantilados” is another step forward in the short, but intense, band’s path. An electrified pop and exciting song where the delicacy of the voices contrasts with the power of the instrumentation.
