ÁLVARO IGLESIAS

He has been part of bands such as Tres (94-96), a folk-rock group formed by old members of Matto Congrio, with which he performed his first concerts; Carlos Núñez (97-98), with whom he collaborated in several national and international concerts, during the presentation of his first album “A Irmandade das estrelas”; Pancho Álvarez (97), who he usually accompanies, both in concerts and in most of his records; Faltriqueira (03-05), a group where he was part as a bassist and percussionist during the tour of their first album "Faltriqueira"; or the piper Anxo Lorezo (07-14). He has been participating with all of them throughout more than twenty years in the most upscale international festivals.

Among his most renowned works, there are recordings, compositions or collaborations for more than twenty CDs and documentaries for TVG (Galician TV) or the Discovery Channel.

Currently, he combines being a member of and collaborating with bands such as Aran (2000), Entre Trastes (2006), Ardentía (2007), SonDeSeu (2007) or Rodrigo Romaní (2015), among others, with being a producer, composer, arranger and freelance in studio recordings or live collaborations with different artists and bands from the national and international music scene.

“Alma” (Zouma Records, 2018) is his first solo record and also the first album in the history of Celtic music where the solo instrument is a double bass, where he plays melodies and own compositions always based on the traditional Galician music.
