BEN RICHARDS JR is the personal and anonymous project of a man from Ourense, pioneer of the new generations of Galician punk rap since 1995.Since 2010, the Ourense native has been giving us a yearly chapter of his vision of today's society; an amazing mess, creating a fictitious and unreal character who spices up his recipes with electronic drums, drum machines with the smell of the 80s, futuristic bass and synthesizers mixed with famous phrases from mythical films, launching messages that lash like a whip on consciences.Neo-buffoon, juggler or genius, a combination of urban music, rap, electronic, rock or punk, can be heard in his records.Six demos and six albums endorse his career; the latest, "Cosas que hacer en Ourense antes de morir" (2023), was a real challenge that, for health reasons, had to be recorded cutting each sentence separately, in record time and against the clock, and which comes loaded with point-blank shots in the infamous chest of western capitalism; a real settling of scores.We still don't know his real identity, he has no active social networks, he doesn't do any promotions... It is a daring proposal, iconic of the absurd, a sharp review of our society and the current music scene.Long live, XIGANTE!
