Conde Varo

Conde Varo is the project through which Xián Gómez (Santiago de Compostela, 1998) attempts to put into words all those things we feel but don't always know how to express.

Nourished by musical influences ranging from alternative rock to melodic pop, his lyrics invite reflection on themes such as love, introspection, personal struggle and everyday experiences, all wrapped up in catchy melodies and guitar chords. Among his main inspirations are Tom Petty, Foo Fighters, Leiva and Brian Fallon.

In the spring of 2020, coinciding with the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, he began arranging, recording and releasing the songs he had been writing for years in the privacy of his bedroom. These first 10 tracks are compiled together with the bonus track ‘Versos’ on “Proyecto Manhattan” (2022), his first LP. It was also at this point that he began his journey as a live performer and content creator, combining his musical side with his love of psychology, philosophy and humour.

After a long production process between the summer of 2023 and mid-2025, his second LP, “14:41”, was released in the summer of 2025 to great public acclaim. Notable tracks from this album are the singles ‘El Bueno de Tom’ (released in spring 2024), ‘Como Gatos’ (released in April 2025) and ‘Sinergia (Fuego en las Trincheras)’. He is currently in the process of promoting this latest work.
