Paula Ríos

Described as a performer with a strong personality, refined technique and originality in her projects, Paula has performed in Spain, UK, France, Switzerland, Germany, Portugal and Argentina, and recorded for RNE, TVE, Radio Suisse Romande, IB3, TVG and RG.

Her new CD "When in silence of the soul" (Eudora Records) is dedicated to Fanny Mendelssohn, including first recordings and the Ostersonate, which she premièred in Spain and Portugal under her right authorship.

«Cantar con los dedos», dedicated to Chopin and his circle, took her to Paris, London and Madrid. Her first CD «Chopin en Mallorca» (Chopin Museum Valldemossa) was presented at the Chopin Society UK on the composer’s own piano.

Moreover, Paula researches the National school and the Avant-Garde in Spain. She is invited to give lectures and join Spanish dance projects. «Viento de Plata» collects the works of Jesús Bal y Gay and Rosa García Ascot, Generación del 27 composers.

Paula Ríos obtained the Extraordinary Prize at the CSM Vigo with Constantino Pérez and continued her studies at the Musik-Akademie der Stadt Basel with László Gyimesi and Rudolf Buchbinder, where she obtained the Konzertdiplom and completed her Postgraduate Studies in the Soloists’ Class. She broadened her studies with Claudio Martínez Mehner and at masterclasses of Elisabeth Leonskaja, Alicia de Larrocha and Piotr Anderszewski. She won prizes and scholarships from RCN, Fundación Gil Dávila, Fundación Pedro Barrié de la Maza, Caixanova, Lyra Stiftung and Schweizerische Interpretenstiftung.
