XA’LUM, a versatile artist, embodies the roles of singer, producer and composer. Renowned for her ability to captivate emotions on stage and for her mastery of sound design, she offers an immersive musical experience. With French-Galician origins and a family history marked by wartime exile in France, by exile in France during the war, she grew up in Spain before moving to Île-de-France three years ago. Her musical journey began at an early age, exploring the piano and digital keyboards. Since discovering Pink Floyd during her youth, she has developed a passion for synthesizers, which permeates her artistic style. She collaborated with American producer Mike Frey on a project that won the Xuventude Crea and Sonidos Mans contemporary music awards. She was also awarded the honorary mention of composer FEC 2024, organised by Resonancias Iberoamericanas.XA'LUM creates atmospheric and emotional music, combining unique sound designs, harmonic synthesizers and Latin and downtempo rhythms. She uses her voice as an instrument, incorporating improvisational elements into her pieces. Drawing inspiration from the vocal techniques of traditional Galician music she learned from his grandmother, as well as the hip-hop currents of the neighbourhoods where she grew up, XA'LUM offers an authentic and personal musical experience. With hints of cloud rap, dream pop and alternative R&B, she is often compared to renowned artists such as FKA Twigs, Sevdaliza, James Blake and Nai Palm.
