María Domínguez

María Domínguez is a pianist, cultural manager and artistic researcher. She has been awarded and supported by numerous institutions such as Via Zuid Talenmakelaar, Schiting Cultural Entrepreneurchip Maastricht, Maastricht Conservatory Foundation, Art Buro Limburg and Peter de Grote Festival. Among his studies, it is worth mentioning the Master in Classical Piano Performance at the Maastricht Conservatory; the Postgraduate course in Contemporary Music with the Ensemble Ictus and Spectra in Brussels; the Degree in Cultural Production and Management at the High Performance Center (ESMAR) in Valencia; and the Doctorate in Teaching Innovation with the University of Jaén, researching about the presence and use of contemporary music in music education.

On this occasion, María Domínguez introduces a show made up of works of minimalist character whose main objective is, through the piano and electronics, to reduce the musical material to the essential, stripping it of overloaded elements typical of the Western virtuoso tradition and thus immersing the audience in a hypnotic, emotional and corporeal atmosphere. The traditional acoustic sounds of the piano blend organically with the experimental and avant-garde sonorities of electronic music. Her project Koun(t)erpoint will achieve, through a careful visual and sound dramaturgy, to make us enjoy a poetic, intimate and enveloping experience.
