Milesios

Milesios is a folk band that collects and reinterprets traditional Galician and Irish tunes, following the old legend: Galician people, called Milesians, travelled to Ireland thousands of years ago, carrying their music with them. Milesios has been playing around Galiza since 2009, with well-known bands such as Berrogüetto, Coetus, Kepa Junquera, Pepe Vaamonde Grupo Quempallou or Tiruleque, to name just a few.

In 2015, they received the award 'Folk en la Sierra - FIS 2012," ex aequo with BOC, and Menaya. In 2013, their first CD came out: “alén mar”, featuring Pilocha and Carolina Vazquez. Ezequiel Orol was the audio engineer, Daniel Díaz Trigo the designer, while Nerea Pallares wrote the texts in the booklet. In 2017, "indoevindo", a new CD, was released. Arturo Vaquero was the sound engineer on this occasion. The CD comes with a photobook by Daniel Díaz. The new work by Milesios consists of 14 tracks. The CD represents a concert interwoven with the landscapes in Daniel Diaz photographs.

Milesios are: Maite Veiga: vocals, percussion, bass guitar; Marta Portela: vocals, tambourine and other percussion instruments; Manuel María Veiga: bouzouki, mandolin, flute, clarinet, bagpipes, accordion, bass guitar; Manuel do Moucheiro: guitar, bodhrán; Noelia Fersán: bagpipes, flutes, percussion; Paula Veiga: violin, mandolin; and Senén Montero: accordion, small drum, drums, bodhrán, scythe and other percussion instruments.
