Dúo Fírveda: Marina Hermida & Nerea Rodríguez

Established in 2015, Dúo Fírveda is made up of two young ladies with a long career behind them. Their ultimate goal of bringing music closer to the people comes true by playing different music genres at their concerts from composers such as Bach, Piazzolla, Arvo Pärt, Albéniz and even premiering works from recent composers.

Marina Hermida (violinist) was born in 1999 and, at just 7, she started studying violin taught by Sergio Heredia at the CMUS Manuel Quiroga, where she finished at 15 earning the End of Degree Prize.

She was the concertmaster of the ONSG, where she also performed as a soloist, and she’s currently a participating member of the OJSG and the OSG in the project Son Futuro. Hermida recorded as a soloist with the Orquesta Filarmónica Ciudad de Pontevedra and performed in halls like the Pazo Euskalduna of Bilbao for the Musika-Música International Festival, at the CMUS of Vigo, Pontevedra and Ourense and at the Palacio de la Ópera in A Coruña.

Nere Rodríguez (accordionist) was born in 1993 and began her studies in music taught by Marcos Padrón at the CMUS Pontevedra where she earned the Extraordinary End of Degree Prize. She also studied at the CSMA under the guidance of maestros such as A.L. Castaños, I. Alberdi or A. Telleria.

Rodríguez performed at the Teatro Livorno (Italy), International Festival of Accordion Music in Kiev (Ukraine), Sala Mozart in Zaragoza, Fundación Juan March in Madrid and Catedral de Santiago de Compostela. She opened works of C. Cerezo, O. Escudero, P. Busseuil, etc. as well.
