Mileth

Mileth is a band that plays Galician pagan metal or, in other words, a mix between extreme metal, folk and Galician traditional music.

The genesis of these Sons of Mil dates back to 2009, in the Mariña (Lugo, Galicia), land where their lyrical concept emerges, rooted on the mystic landscapes of the Xistral Valley.

Throughout the last decade, Mileth records some demos: “Cancioneiro da enxebre escuridade” (2012), “Mitolóxica errante... e na novena onda caeron os deuses (2014)”, both of them self-published, and “Daqueles vellos ósos onde morre a vida” (2016), released by Darkwoods in a compilation with the rest of the demos thus far; said compilation is released in an special edition by the name “Recolleita dos demos que han de ser esquecidos”. All these well-received demos launch the band into the Spanish underground scene, which leads them to share stage with some internationally renowned bands.

After years of hard word, they drop “Catro pregarias no albor da Lúa Morta” (2019), released by both the Russian label SoundAge Productions and the Spanish one Darkwoods. A solid step forward in their determination about looking for an organic and very personal fusion between both folk and metal. During the recordings, they joined forces with renowned musicians from the Galician folk scene (SondeSeu, Quempallou, Rodrigo Romaní Trío), prompting some passages where tambourines, drums, harps or leghóns alternate with gutural growls and distorted guitars.
