Nico Casal

Born in Santiago de Compostela (Galicia) in 1985, Nico Casal is a pianist and film composer based between London and Madrid, where he is currently working as a freelance music composer. He composed the music for the winner of Best Short Film at the 2016 Oscars, "Stutterer" (Benjamin Cleary, 2015) and his latest feature film "Sunday's Illness" directed by Ramón Salazar.

Apart from many documentaries and short films, he has also worked extensively in advertising with companies and agencies such as McCann London, Wieden+Kennedy and Adelphoi Music, and with brands such as British Airways, HSBC, Nurofen, Zurich, Adidas, Vogue Japan, Wimbledon, Discovery Channel and Ford, among others.

Nico composed the music for three feature films, "El Árbol Magnético" (Isabel Ayguavives, 2013), "Bestia de Cardo" (Virginia Sánchez, 2014) and his latest one "María (y los demás)", directed by Nely Reguera in 2016.

He just released his debut album "Alone" on PIAS/Point Of Departure in London.
