María Mendoza

María Mendoza, pianist and composer, was born in Oviedo in 1975. Bachelor of Fine Arts and Graduate in Piano, Chamber Music and Solfege, Repent and Transport, she is a current member of the Galician Composers Association.

Her professional activity includes teaching, composing, and performing, highlighting her creative side, both compositive and interpretative.

Composer of animated series and short films broadcasted on televisions around the world, as well as composer of contemporary classical music, performed in Spain, France, Turkey and Italy, among others, her works are published by Dos Acordes, Armonía Universal, Periferia Música, Ediciones Robert Martin, Música Neo and Galician Consellería of Cultura.

She’s been awarded with the 1st prize for her musical work for Symphonic Band 'A Raíña Lupa’ in the V Composition Competition for Music Band ‘Josep María Lleixà Subirats (2018), 2nd prize in the I International Composition Competition Hélianthe (2016) for her work ‘Devil's Dance’ for alto sax and piano, and 3rd prize in the Composition Competition Galician Folk Songs’ (2015) with her piano work ‘Como queres que te ronde’.

Her albums, Intro (2016), Nova (2017), and Cronos (2020), published by the Ourense record label Arteficción, can be heard on all digital platforms and in her shows, who she currently plays along with the actress Nate Borrajo.
